Military history blogger Steve Clifford brought to my attention the work of a remarkable woman, Marika Pirie, who collects and shares photos taken during the First World War.
If you research Canadian soldiers who served during WWI, there is a good chance you’ve read a news clipping or seen a photograph posted by Ms. Pirie, who in the last 15 years has contributed more than 12,000 images to the Canadian Virtual War Memorial.
Incredibly, Ms. Pirie still has thousands of images to upload. She maintains a spreadsheet to help her quickly retrieve information for fellow researchers.
