Lecture about WWI and Ontario estate files

Ontario land records expert and genealogist Jane MacNamara is one of those speakers I have yet to hear, but would sure like to do so. If you live in the Toronto area, here’s your chance.

The following notice appeared in the Ontario Genealogical Society’s weekly e-newsletter.

“To commemorate the centenary of the First World War, the Archives of Ontario is hosting a series of engaging talks designed to connect Ontario residents with archival records related to the war. Admission is free. These talks are for Scholars, family historians and history buffs as a valuable aid for further exploration of the Archives’ extensive resources related to the First World War.

“The first speaker is Jane MacNamara. Jane is an OGS member, an author, and a genealogy instructor. She will be presenting Inheritance Interrupted: WWI reflected in Ontario Estate Files on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.”

For more information and to register, visit the Archives of Ontario website: http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/en/about/speaker_series.aspx

To whet your appetite, you can read about the topic of Ms. MacNamara’s lecture on her website, Where the story takes me…
