This past week, there were 512,275 additions on Findmypast from Britain and the British Empire, including promotions, medals and service records.
British Empire Awards & Medals 1917-2023
Stretching back to the First World War, this new set contains the names of over 320,000 recipients of prestigious awards, like the British Empire Medal (BEM) and the Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (GBE), from 1917 to 2023.
British Army Officer Promotions 1800-1815
The second new set is comprised of 182,000 British military promotion records from the early 19th century.
British Army Service Records
Findmypast also added 8,025 British service records, with additions for the Scots Guards, the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, and the York Light Infantry.
