In honour of Independance Day in the United States, MyHeritage is providing free access to its unique US City Directories collection until July 7.
The US City Directories collection was produced from 26,000 American city directories published between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains 561 million aggregated records that were consolidated from 1.3 billion records, so that multiple records about the same person are listed together, making it especially easy to navigate. This collection serves as an important alternative to US census records that may not be available — for example the 1890 census, most of which was destroyed in a fire.
Watch the free webinar, A Deep Dive into U.S. City Directories at MyHeritage, on Legacy Family Tree Webinars to learn more. There, you’ll also find the free six-page syllabus to download. The presentation will guide you through MyHeritage’s US City Directories collection to find more than just residential information about your ancestors.
Happy 4th of July!
