Another 30,000 Nova Scotia births, marriages and deaths go online this summer

Nova Scotia Archives yesterday announced that the latest batch of historical vital statistics is on its way. The 2023 batch of historical vital statistics are currently being prepared for the provincial archives’ website.

That means 30,000 previously unreleased records will be available for family history research.

Birth records from 1922, marriages from 1947, and deaths from 1972 are being transferred from the Office of Vital Statistics, with scanning and standard indexing underway.

Once completed in summer 2023, the records will be added to the provincial archives’ website, as well as added into the public Transcribe tool.
