WWI Canadian propaganda posters served as weapon and communication

PostMedia has added to its website, The Great War: 1914-1918, a colourful selection of Canadian propaganda posters used to recruit and promote the cause of the First World War. The caption below each poster explains the intended strategy. Jane Flanagan writes: “During the First World War propaganda poster〈s〉 became both a new weapon and a means of communication on both the home front and the battlefield.”

When I first wrote about this website at the beginning of July in New WWI website filled with images and stories…, I expected there would be almost daily updates, and that seems to be the case. Nice.

See the WWI posters here.
