A new Quebec family history book at BAnQ — April 2021

This pandemic continues to affect the quantity of recently published books the staff at the Grande Bibliothèque in Montreal receive and catalogue, with the numbers much smaller than usual.

For the month of April 2021, the Grande Bibliothèque catalogued only one new family history for its genealogy collection.

The Grande Bibliothèque is the flagship library facility of the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ). All books published in Quebec, including family histories, must be deposited at the Grande Bibliothèque. They form part of the national collection.

If interested in learning more about the books listed below, contact BAnQ by completing the online form. (Click on English in the top right corner of form to see the English-language form.) The people at BAnQ will respond in English or French, depending on the language of inquiry, within a couple of days.

La famille de Jos Roberge by Yvon Roberge. Thetford Mines, Quebec : Centre d’archives de la région de Thetford, 2021.

This book is about Joseph Roberge’s family and his wife, Joséphine Lachance. Mr. Roberge opened a general store in Thetford Mines in 1896. Part of the Roberge-Lachance family tree can be viewed on Genealogy in Canada. (Use the information on Genealogy in Canada as hints that need to be checked against evidence.)
