Eastern Ontario newspapers digitized

The Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives in Arnprior, Ontario has added more than 180 issues of newspapers from Renfrew County to its online collection, with financial assistance from the Ottawa Branch of Ontario Ancestors. Renfrew County is located just west of Ottawa.

The latest newspapers to be digitized are The Arnprior Watchman, 1913-1919, Arnprior Chronicle, 1890-1928, Weekly News, 1906, along with “a few extras,” such as Almonte Gazette, Scottish American Journal, Arnprior Weekly Review, and two Arnprior Chronicle issues from 1948 and 1961.

The online newspaper collection is available on the Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives website.

A keyword search within an issue is possible, but because of the condition of the newspaper, the search can often be unsuccessful. Browsing may be more effective.
