Free access to MyHeritage’s Australian records starts Saturday

G’day! If it wasn’t so cold outside, I’d put something on the barbie for dinner. Instead, I’ll focus on researching my Irish Haire, Noble and Gillis ancestors who immigrated to Australia.

For those of us with family ties Down Under, in honour of Australia Day, MyHeritage is offering free access to more than 300 Australian historical record collections, including vital records, electoral rolls, and convict records.

The records will be free starting Saturday, January 25 through Tuesday, January 28.

Usually, a Complete, Data, or Omni plan is required to view these records, but for a limited time only, anyone can search and view them for free. Note that non-MyHeritage users will be asked to create a free MyHeritage account to access them.

Also note that records from OldNews.com, such as the recently added Australia, Names & Stories in Newspapers from OldNews.com and Australia Obituary Index from OldNews.com, are not included in the free promotion. While anyone can search these records for free on MyHeritage, accessing the full newspaper records requires an OldNews.com or Omni subscription.
