BIFHSGO’s virtual conference will feature Irish family history

The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO) yesterday announced the program for its virtual annual conference, which will focus on Irish research.

Teaghlach Gaelach: A Celebration of Irish Family History will take place October 26 and 27 and it will feature six speakers from Ireland and the United Kingdom:

    • Natalie Bodle
    • Austin Bovenizer
    • Claire Bradley
    • John Grenham
    • Martin McDowell
    • William Roulston

The conference will also include a virtual Expo Hall, Conference Connect where registrants can connect with each other to discuss the sessions, and Expert Connect where experts representing various areas of Ireland will offer research assistance.

Registration will open September 1. The fee is $35 for BIFHSGO members and $50 for non-members.

Access to the presentations and handouts will be available to registrants until November 30.

As for the conference theme, the Irish Gaelic phrase, Teaghlach Gaelach, means “Irish family.”
