Toronto Archives adds an additional 18,000 digitized images to its online database

City of Toronto Archives earlier this month uploaded 17,984 new images to their database. If you haven’t checked out the collection, now may be the time to do so.

One of the new online collections is Fonds 620 of photographer Avard Woolaver’s photos of Toronto street life in the 1980s that can be browsed. The 695 images document many aspects of Toronto predominately from the 1980s, including Kensington Market, Nathan Phillips Square, the Eaton Centre, Ontario Place, and CN Tower. The images also include Toronto streetscapes, including small businesses, various neighborhoods, and portraits of notable Toronto artists and musicians.

To conduct a keyword search within the Avard Woolaver collections, use the Advanced Search feature. Enter the keyword, such as Kensington, in the Keyword field and Fonds 620 in the Forms part of field. The images in this collection are protected by copyright.
