FQSG conference in Trois-Rivières

Registration is now open for the Fédération québécoise des sociétés de généalogie’s (Quebec Federation of Genealogy Societies) 8th conference in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, October 3- 5, 2014. To take advantage of the early bird discount, register before August 24.

The conference theme is “Vivre et survivre en ce pays” (Living and surviving in this country) and the focus is on learning more about how our ancestors adapted to their environment, climate, and geography. It was a question of adapt or perish. Presentations include female immigration in New France by Marcel Fournier, the deportation of Acadians and their arrival in Quebec by André-Carl Vachon, and the Carignan-Salières Regiment by Peter Gagné. All will be delivered in French.
