BCG’s day of genealogy education to be broadcast online for free

The Board for Certification of Genealogists and Legacy Family Tree will broadcast online five one-hour lectures held at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City on Friday, October 19.

Registration is free. (You must register for each lecture that interests you.)

The lecture series, called the Reisinger Lectures, is named in honour of the late Joy Reisinger, former BCG vice-president and Certified Genealogist Emeritus.

The times listed are in Mountain time.

9:00 a.m. – “Past Conflict Repatriation: The Role of Genealogists and Methodology in Fulfilling Our Nation’s Promise.” Jeanne Larzalere Bloom, CG

10:30 a.m. – “Deeper Analysis: Techniques for Successful Problem Solving.” Elissa Scalise Powell, CG, CGL

1:00 p.m. – “John Jacob Kramer: Case Study of Mistaken Identity among Revolutionary War Soldiers.” Rebecca Whitman Koford, CG, CGL

2:15 p.m. – “Using Indirect and Negative Evidence to Prove Unrecorded Events.” Thomas W. Jones, PhD, CG, CGL

3:30 p.m. – “The Discriminating Genealogist: Telling Good Evidence from Bad.” Judy G. Russell, CG, CGL

No word on whether recordings will be available to watch for free for a few days afterward and available to Legacy Family Tree webinar subscribers.
