Library and Archives Canada has digitized almost 90% of WWI service files

Right on schedule, yesterday, on March 15, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) announced 568,203 of 640,000 Canadian Expeditionary Force service files are available online in their Personnel Records of the First World War database. The project is almost 90 percent complete.

Digitizing the WWI files in chronological order, LAC has reached the name, Timson.

LAC plans to finish digitizing all WWI service files in time for the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI in November 2018.

After that, I’m going to miss looking forward to the 15th of the month.
