The Ontario Genealogical Society’s final webinar for 2017 is Researching your Ancestors before Civil Registration in England and Wales, presented by Kirsty Gray on Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.
With increased digitization of genealogical records in England and Wales, documents relating to your ancestors are far more readily available but how are the records structured? Where are they located? And what information can be gleaned from these primary sources? Taking you through the basics by examining various record sets in the parish chest, Ms. Gray highlights the online and offline resources available to today’s genealogist when researching before 1837 in England and Wales.
This webinar is open to members and non-members who register here to watch it live. A recording will be available to OGS members afterward.

Only the live webinar will be available to the public. It will be recorded for OGS members only.
If you have not been an OGS member for the last two years, you can take advantage of the half-price offer, which comes out to a grand total of $31.50. All you need is an existing member to sponsor you. If you don’t know anyone, you can post your request on the Ontario Genealogical Society Facebook page, asking for a sponsor. I just spoke to OGS and was told there are still current members looking for a new member to sponsor. You have until almost the end of December to take advantage.
