Ancestry adds 16 Canadian collections

After what seemed like a dry spell for Canadian genealogy research, Ancestry’s database exploded this week with the addition of 16 Canadian collections from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and Alberta.

The Alberta birth, marriage, and death indexes are available on the Provincial Archives of Alberta website in PDF, a format that is browsable, but not as easily searchable as on Ancestry. Most of these Nova Scotia and New Brunswick records now on Ancestry can also be found on FamilySearch.
