Society journals about filles du roi, Eastern Townships, and Guindon family available online

The last two editions of Sent by the King, the journal of La Société des filles du roi et soldats du Carignan, are available to read online via the blog, TreeSearcher, by Laverne. The society is in Virginia.

Articles in the spring 2017 edition of Sent by the King include Lonely Colonist Seeks Wife: The Forgotten History of America’s First Mail Order Brides and Searching for My Filles du roi and Soldiers of the Carignan Regiment.

In the same blog post, Laverne provides links to two other publications: Eastern Townships of Quebec Connector about tracing family history in that region and 51 issues of Guindon Journal about the Guindon family from France who settled in Canada and the United States.

One Response to Society journals about filles du roi, Eastern Townships, and Guindon family available online

  1. Thank you Gail for all the positive feedback on my treesearcher website for the Society journals about filles du roi, Eastern Townships, and Guindon family available online.
I had lots of hits and hopefully new family connections will be found. You have a great site and so much genealogy information to share!
