Irish Military Census 1922

Although the 1922 Irish Military Census has been around for three years, Martin Brennan’s blog post about this free online resource was a good reminder for me. I couldn’t recall if I had already checked it for ancestors.

These census records show who served with the newly formed National Army during the Irish Civil War, and it usually notes their age, next of kin and address.

The military census is available on the Military Archives website, but I encourage you to first visit Mr. Brennan’s blog post, The Irish Military 1922, to find the link at the end of it… because that is the nice thing for a fellow blogger to do.
