Read this and you’ll wish your ancestors came from County Clare

Genealogy blogger Claire Santry says you would have to be “crackers” not to wish the library of your ancestors’ county in Ireland was as good as the one in County Clare. I agree

Take a look at the Genealogy & Family History section of the Clare County Library website and, if your ancestors didn’t come from there, tell me you’re not envious.

You’ll be amazed at the number of links to online databases on the library’s website. The link to the library’s website is available in Ms. Santry’s blog post, Clare County Library wants to hear from you.

Ms. Santry writes, “Clare County Library is in the process of preparing a five-year Library Development Plan and is looking for opinions from its users (and even non-users) about the development and future priorities of the service.”

Yes, I’m envious.

We are also lucky in the neighbouring county Limerick, our local studies section of the Limerick Library has put thousands of records online to browse from the comfort of your own home. http://www.limerickcity.ie/library/localstudies/
