WWI the focus of BIFHSGO’s lectures this Saturday

Since it is Remembrance Day week, the theme of the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa’s monthly meeting this Saturday is about the First World War and other battles.

At 9:00 a.m., Terry Findley will share tips, tricks and sources to find your ancestors who served in the military. Featured case studies are an ancestor who fought in the Rebellion of 1837-1838 and some relatives who fought in WWI.

At 10:00 a.m., Patty McGregor will discuss Col. George Gallie Nasmith’s WWI letters and her research methods to identify the people mentioned in them.

The meeting will be held at The Chamber, Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, Ottawa. Open to members and visitors. Free admission and parking. Information available on the BIFHSGO website.
