Savoir faire — OGS Niagara Peninsula Branch surpasses volunteer milestone

Last week, the Niagara Peninsula Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society surpassed an important volunteer milestone.

After two-and-a-half years of work, branch volunteers, along with members of the public, have posted photos and transcriptions of more than 50,000 headstones from the former Lincoln/Welland Counties to CanadianHeadstones.com.

Add this great accomplishment to the 12,000 headstones transcribed by early 2013, the volunteers have now recorded more than 62,000 headstones.
