The new season of Who Do You Think You Are? begins this Sunday, July 26, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, on TLC, and it features actress Ginnifer Goodwin who tries to get to the bottom of a dark family secret and discover why her father never knew his own grandparents.

When Ms. Goodwin looks at local newspapers in Louisiana, she discovers one of her female ancestors plead guilty to purchasing and possessing morphine in 1925, and was sentenced to two years in federal prison. Her visit with a drug historian helps her understand how this ancestor likely became addicted to morphine.
