Melissa Etheridge discovers her French Canadian roots on WDYTYA? tonight

The season finale of Who Do You Think You Are? features singer Melissa Etheridge as she goes on a journey to uncover her father’s maternal roots.

I have been looking forward to this episode because Ms. Etheridge travels to Quebec where she finds French Canadian ancestors who were shaken by a scandalous lawsuit. She also learns about a turbulent relationship entangled with tragedy and an adventuresome ancestor who prospered in colonial America.

The episode airs Sunday, April 26 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time on TLC.

  1. Stéphane J. Lefèbvre says:

I knew I had French Canadian roots, but I had no idea how deep and in what way. I discovered multiple aboriginal lines, Acadian lines and Cajun/Creole lines. Not exactly what I would have thought I’d find.

I am proud to be Metis and anyone who discovers this heritage should be proud of it too!
