150th anniversary of American civil war lectures at McCord Museum

In a two-part series, on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, historian and columnist André Champagne will look at socio-political aspects of the American Civil War (1861-1865), from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Part 1 will be delivered on Monday; part 2 will be on Tuesday.

Photography and the American Civil War
On Wednesday, April 22, Hélène Samson, curator of McCord’s Notman Photographic Archives, will present the iconographic legacy of the American Civil War, including photographs in the collection that show the impact of the war on Montreal, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Both presentations will be delivered in French, followed by a bilingual question period, in McCord’s J. Armand-Bombardier Theatre, 690 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal (McGill Metro).

Admission for each lecture is $25 for adults, $21 for seniors, and $15 for students.
