New Nova Scotia vital stats to go online this summer

Nova Scotia flagThe Nova Scotia Archives is currently digitizing births registered in 1914 (including delayed registrations), marriages registered in 1939, and deaths registered in 1964. The Archives expects to upload these records — more than 25,000 — in July.

This latest batch of records was released December 31, 2014 and is now being prepared for uploading to www.novascotiagenealogy.com where we can now look at records for previous years. The electronic indexes for these records are being constructed or improved upon, and quality control testing is underway.

Genealogists are an impatient lot, but for many of us, summer seems especially far off.

  1. Carl Mortensen says:

I have been seeking B/D on my father’s sister Emma Madora Mortensen d/o Thomas C. Mortensen and Louisa A. Hanright. Born 3 May 1889 in Amherst, NS, Died 9 May 1889 in Amherst, NS . Also were buried?
Also seeking birth record of Louisa A. Hanright b 8 Oct 1851. Maybe Amherst, NS. Other confusing records say Eastport, ME. Your help would be appreciated. Thank You.
