On its Facebook page, the Alberta Family Histories Society describes its fall seminar as “just an afternoon one with four speakers, but it will be jam packed with info and discussion.” “Just”?! Gosh, I’m disappointed I don’t live closer.
The seminar takes place November 15 from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. at River Park Church, 3818 — 14A Street SW, Calgary.

I’m sure it will be worthwhile attending this AFHS event. I like the idea that the Society’s Special Interest Groups are participating and that discussion will be a feature – often my favourite part 🙂 And this seminar is a bargain! A yearly membership is regularly $40 so new members are attending free – and then have all the regular membership benefits besides.
Nice to learn I am not the only envious one. Also, this one-day format may inspire other societies to offer something similar.
