The free online learning event, All About That Place, kicks off tomorrow, running over 10 days, from Friday, September 27 to Sunday, October 6.
It will be filled with more than 140 recorded 10-minute talks on genealogy and local history. You’ll learn research techniques, social history, tools, websites, archives, record keeping tips, ways of creating and sharing your findings.
Each day has a theme, and they’ll run in this order:
- Introduction
- Health and Medicine
- Military and War
- Leisure and Entertainment
- Town and Country
- Innovation
- Politics and Rights
- Tools
- Collections and Archives
- Sharing Stories
The list of speakers is long, and you’ll likely recognize the names of many of the names.
There’s no need to register. You can watch the videos on YouTube or on the All About That Place Facebook group. Before the event, they will share video instructions on how to watch in the Facebook group. Visit the Downloads page to see the schedule for your time zone.
All About That Place is brought to you by the Society of Genealogists, the Society for One Place Studies, British Association for Local History, and Genealogy Stories.
