Two Ontario Ancestors virtual presentations this week — plus another on YouTube

It appears to be a quieter week at Ontario Ancestors, with only one branch and a special interest group hosting virtual presentations.

Ottawa and Durham Region branches are holding virtual drop-ins.

In case you missed Essex County Branch’s presentation on DNA from last week, you can watch it on their YouTube channel.

The times for the virtual presentations below are in Eastern time. They are free and open to all.

Monday, February 20, 7:00 p.m. — Sudbury District Branch
An African Canada Family History Mystery by Mags Gaulden

A question about a family lore leads a scientist to question his surname. “Is my surname really my surname or is the lore correct, that my 2nd great grandfather was adopted?” Solving a 220-year-old mystery using DNA turns this family upside down and introduces them to each other and to a rich family history with connections to slavery. Registration.

Wednesday, February 22, 10:00 a.m. — Scottish SIG
1722 Waggonway Project by Dr. Aaron Allen and Gareth Jones

Registration.
