The Drouin Institute has launched the 2023 edition of its contest in which five participants will win a one-year subscription to GenealogyQuebec.com, worth $129.
Genealogy Quebec is home to over 50 million historical and genealogical documents and images which will help you grow your family tree. These documents focus mainly on Quebec, but also Acadia, New Brunswick, as well as parts of Ontario and the Northeastern United States.
A subscription to the site allows you to browse all of the collections, which include the following types of documents:
- Parish registers and civil records
- Notarized documents
- Death cards
- Censuses
- Tombstones
- Obituaries and death notices
- City directories
- Marriage, birth and death indexes
- Family genealogies
The contest runs from until February 6.
Registering for the draw only requires entering a valid email address in the following form: https://mailchi.mp/institutdrouin/concours2023en.
Those who don’t win may want to check their public library’s website to see if they provide at-home access. For example, Toronto Public Library card holders have free access to the Genealogy Quebec website from home or at their local library.
