Findmypast adds Lancashire workhouse records, Huntingdonshire marriage registrations, and newspaper titles

This past week, Findmypast added new workhouse and marriage records, plus more than a quarter of a million additional newspaper pages.

Oldham Workhouse in Lancashire
This brand new collection sees over 150,000 records from Oldham Workhouse in Lancashire published online. These records cover more than 130 years, from 1800-1936, and include both admissions and discharges. The transcripts provide standard biographical information, as well as the admission or event date. There may be other details, such as notes on the state on arrival (including health conditions and financial situation), whether they were on a regular diet or ‘infirm’ diet, religious persuasion, or reason for discharge.

Marriages 1754-1837 in Huntingdonshire
Though this collection was originally released as a browsable collection, Findmypast has now transcribed these records and released them as a fully searchable index.
