OnLand from a Genealogy Perspective by Ken McKinlay
Once we know where our ancestors lived, the next step is to see if we can find the land records such as deeds and even wills. In this presentation we will be taking a look at the Ontario Land Property Records Portal, aka OnLand, to help us research where our ancestors lived. We will look at the various historical books, try to find a property in an urban area, and even walk through placing an order for an instrument. Registration is required.
Tuesday, April 19 — 7:00 p.m. — Oxford County Branch
Dr. Joy – Tillsonburg’s Man with Eclectic Interests by Laurel Beechey

Wednesday, April 20 — 7:00 p.m. — Elgin County Branch
Google My Maps — Visualizing Our Ancestors’ Lives by Linda Debe
In this webinar, attendees will learn how to use Google My Maps, part of the Google app package, to visualize their ancestors’ lives. They will learn how to track migration patterns, plot where ancestors lived, and sort out same-named individuals. Visually seeing locations placed on a map can help attendees decide which information and documents are plausible, and which are questionable. Linda will be using examples that include the areas in and around Elgin County. Registration is required.
Saturday, April 23 — 1:00 p.m. — Ottawa Branch
The Early History of Cumberland Township, 1798 to 1840 (Ottawa) by Gérard Boyer
