The RootsTech 2022 website went live yesterday. There were still a few tweaks to be made, but an early view provides genealogists with an opportunity to explore the site, learn about the many sessions that will be available, and start creating a playlist.
The free online conference takes place March 3 to 6, and the recordings of sessions will probably be available to watch for the following 12 months.
RootsTech 2022 is the world’s largest family history conference.
Sessions
The titles and descriptions of sessions can be found under the Sessions tab at the top of the web page.
There are 900 sessions for this year. To narrow down the selection of sessions, there are filters to use, such as research location, topic, and speaker. These on-demand and live stream sessions are available in 42 languages.
Note that Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales are grouped together under British Isles — and it appears there are 165 sessions in the location for this year’s conference.
Playlist
What proved to be useful for many registrants last year was the playlist. Find a session that interests you, and look for the Add to Playlist button under the description.
The playlist feature is available to anyone who registers and has a free FamilySearch account. It allows registrants to build a list of sessions that interest them. The playlist and sessions will be available for the 12 months following the conference.
As of late yesterday, the program and Expo Hall weren’t available.
