Explore Jewish Montreal on walking tours

The Museum of Jewish Montreal offers walking tours to historic Jewish neighbourhoods almost every day for the next few weeks. According to a calendar on the museum’s website, the tours will continue until August 3, but an article in The Senior Times suggests the tours will last until Labour Day weekend. (Best to contact the museum directly.)

Two tours are conducted and each lasts between 90 minutes and two hours:

Making their Mark walks through the Plateau neighbourhood and the buildings, or sites, of synagogues, schools, hospitals and cultural centres dating from the early 1900s.

Rabbis, Writers and Radicals walks through the Mile End, with its varied literary, musical, culinary and political traditions.

Tours are offered in English and French. Tickets cost $15. Visit the museum’s website for details about each tour and contact information.

Thanks to Jacques Gagné for the tip.
