At a virtual ceremony on Monday, Guy Berthiaume was awarded the title of Librarian and Archivist of Canada Emeritus in recognition of his “exceptional professional achievements.”
Dr. Berthiaume served as Librarian and Archivist of Canada from June 2014 to August 2019. Prior to that, he had been the chair and chief executive officer of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec.
In 2020, Dr. Berthiaume was appointed as a member of the Order of Canada for his leadership in the preservation of our collective heritage and for making it more accessible to all Canadians.
