Ontario Ancestors Wellington County Branch to hold virtual presentation on Canadiana website

Psst… Here’s an early heads up about a presentation on Zoom that will probably fill up quickly.

The Wellington County Branch of Ontario Ancestors will host the free virtual presentation, Canadian Genealogical Treasures, presented by Dave Obee, on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.

The Canadiana website has a vast amount of material for family historians, but not many use it or even know about it. Canadiana’s rich genealogy and local history collection includes local and family histories, telling of pioneering, settlement and local government in early Canada. This talk is your guide to mining the pages of primary-source documents.

Registration is required, but it doesn’t always guarantee a spot. Typically, organizations accept more registrations than available seats to make up for the no shows and people who forget. Arrive about five to ten minutes to grab your virtual seat. Click on the link you’ll receive by email. While waiting for the presentation to start, pour yourself a beverage or do some research on your family.
