American magazine Family Tree has released its list of 101 Best Genealogy Websites of 2020, organized into several categories, such as Best US Genealogy Websites, Best UK and Irish Genealogy Websites, and Best Historical Newspapers Websites.
It should come as no surprise that a large number of websites are about US genealogy research since an American publication compiled the list. At least three Canadian-based sites, however, made the list: Library and Archives Canada, Olive Tree Genealogy, and Blacksheep Ancestors.
Lists like this one are always a bit controversial because people will say their favourite sites didn’t make the cut. Nevertheless, the list provides us with a list of good websites and perhaps reminds us of some we may have forgotten.
the link does not work it gives a 403 error message
I got “504 Bad Gateway”.
Please give it another try. I slightly revised the URL, which may make it faster to connect.
Please give it another try. I checked with others, and they said it worked. It sounds like the two web servers weren’t connecting fast enough. I hope it works for you now.
It still gives the same error message on both Chrome and Firefox as does the direct link https://www.familytreemagazine.com/best-genealogy-websites/
I modified the URL and may have fixed the problem for you. Please give it another try.
It still gives the saeme error message. If the url directly to family magazine is giving the error message your link to it won’t change that they have to fix it on their end first.
Well, that’s very frustrating, isn’t it? Try Googling: family tree magazine 101 best websites 2020. Thanks for your patience.
I did that’show I got to their original website that has the same error message which is why I said if the original site has a problem your link will also have the same problem
Gail,
I cleaned out my history for 4 weeks and tried it again and it still gets a 403 error same as the family tree magazine 1010 best websites 2020.

I would imagine it’s very frustrating. I don’t know what else to suggest to fix the problem.
