Ontario Ancestors’ Ottawa Branch announces Gene-O-Rama program and launches new website

The Ottawa Branch of Ontario Ancestors is celebrating its 50th anniversary in style, with a strong Gene-O-Rama program and a newly designed website.

The 35th Gene-O-Rama will be held Friday evening, April 3 and all day Saturday, April 4 in Ottawa. The speakers are Bruce Elliott, Thomas MacEntee, Ken McKinlay, Shirley-Ann Pyefinch, John D. Reid, and Glenn Wright.

The early bird conference fee is only $40 up to March 6, and $45 after that.

For the third year, the branch will hold an all-day Genealogy for Beginners workshop on the Friday of Gene-O-Rama. Early bird registration is $15, and $20 afterward. The four sessions will cover censuses, free genealogy resources, ethics, and DNA, and will be presented by Gloria Tubman, Heather Oakley, Mike Moore, and Richard McGregor.

Gene-O-Rama will take place at the Confederation Education Centre, 1645 Woodroffe Avenue, where there is free parking.

Conference and workshops programs and registration can be found on the Ottawa Branch’s website.
