If you are not taking advantage of Facebook to help you with your genealogy research, you’re missing out on a terrific, free resource.
Facebook is like a virtual genealogical society. You join groups about your areas of interest where you can ask questions or just listen to the conversation.
In these groups, you can virtually “meet” and learn from experienced genealogists. Members in the groups post research queries, share resources, and help each other. People often respond to questions within minutes.
The latest edition of Facebook for Canadian Genealogy lists more than 1,000 groups and pages that can help genealogists research their ancestors who lived in Canada.
In addition to listing resources for all Canadian provinces and territories, I have included genealogical and historical societies, national and provincial archives, museums, military history, vintage photos, New France, British Home Children, First Nations, United Empire Loyalist groups, family names, United States (Cajun, Franco-American), and special interests — in English and French.
Also listed on the above link are Katherine R. Willson’s mammoth international list and Alona Tester’s Australian list.
Wonderful!!
Thank You. This may break my stone wall?
