American genealogist Judy G. Russell had a surprise yesterday for me and probably others on her blog, The Legal Genealogist. She wrote, “GEDmatch — the third-party matching site many genealogists use for cross-company DNA comparisons — is shifting over from the current soon-to-be-called classic system to the new Genesis system, according to an announcement on the GEDmatch home page.”
As of Tuesday, December 18, all new DNA kits will be added only to the Genesis site, not GEDmatch.
Read more about this change and Ms. Russell’s immediate concerns in her blog post, Genesis at GEDmatch.
