The Ontario Genealogical Society yesterday announced its president, Steve Fulton, UE, has been elected to a three-year term as a director at large of the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS).
Mr. Fulton said, “I am thrilled for the opportunity to represent the Ontario Genealogical Society at FGS, and to not only raise the profile of genealogy in Canada with FGS, and to share the work done in Canada with FGS and its member societies, but also to learn from the FGS board members and member societies about best practices which may be of assistance to us at the Ontario society.”
He added, “The Ontario Genealogical Society was a founding member of FGS, and we are delighted for the society to have this opportunity to participate in a leadership role with FGS.”
Joining Mr. Fulton for a three-year term as FGS directors are Sara Gredler from Texas and Mike Mansfield and Stephen C. Young who are both from Utah.
Faye Jenkins Stallings from Texas was re-elected as president for a two-year term, and she is joined on the executive committee by Dennis VanderWerff, secretary from California, and Mark Olson, vice-president, Administration, from Utah.
Returning board members are Cari Taplin, vice-president, Membership; David E. Rencher, vice-president, Development; Rick Shields, treasurer; D. Joshua Taylor, past president; and directors Deborah Abbott, Jen Baldwin, Cheri Bush, Ed Donakey, Tonia Kendrick, Juliana Szucs, and Randy Whited.
