Legacy Family Tree today, Wednesday, October 23, hosts a free webinar, 10 Eastern European Genealogy Resources You Might be Missing, presented by Lisa Alzo, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time.
While church registers are the most popular and useful sources for tracing most Eastern European ancestors, and civil registration of births, marriages, and deaths provide even more details, there are other record groups to be searched that may prove useful, especially in the absence of church and vital records for your locality. This webinar will discuss available, census, tax lists, land, military, and other records and how to access them.
Registration is free but space is limited to the first 1,000 people to join today. When you join, if you receive a message that the webinar is full, you know they’ve reached the 1,000 limit. Within an hour or two of the webinar’s conclusion, the recording will be published to the webinar archives and it will be available to watch for free for up to seven days.
What countries would you guess they will cover?
Looking at the syllabus that is available to webinar subscribers, it appears she may talk about Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Hungary, Austria, Ukraine, Russia, and Czechoslovakia, among others.
