Summer research guide

Summer sunPlanning a genealogy research trip this summer and want to go prepared?

Genealogy database provider Mocavo offers a free 23-page Summer Genealogy Research Guide to help you plan your research trip this summer. The guide includes tips on what to pack and how to create a research plan, a family group sheet, a research log, and a check list. You can easily download the guide from Mocavo’s blog.

The guide also recommends reading three articles. Despite my best Googling skills, I could only find one of the articles: Five Steps to Create a Foolproof Research Plan. Since the guide is online, it would have been easy for them to hyperlink these articles.

Mocavo’s guide reminded me of an amusing photo in Family Tree Magazine about what a roving genealogist should bring on a research trip.
