Due to the strong interest in the sold-out Genealogy and Genetics Workshop at the Archives of Ontario on September 21, the host, Professor Julia Creet, has decided to live stream the event, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Eastern time.
Thinking of buying an ancestral DNA test for yourself or someone else? Already have your results? This free, day-long workshop will help you understand the science, ethics, social and privacy implications of direct-to-consumer genetic genealogy.
If interested in watching the live streaming, register at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/genealogy-and-genetics-a-free-public-workshop-livestreamed-tickets-50093147954 where you will also find the full schedule.
I signed up. How will I be able to access the event? I don’t see a link in the email confirmation.
I suspect we will receive a second email close to the date with the link. In the meantime, I am enquiring.
One of the speakers just told me, “You should receive an email soon with the link. If by chance it hasn’t arrived by this evening please contact Prof. Julia Creet via the link on the page for the event.”
I’m at work between 10am and 4:45 pm. Is there anyway to watch this program after it’s done? Upload to Youtube or some such place?
I had a similar beef with my local library. They assume everyone is retired so they schedule stuff during the day. Now my library holds some events on weeknights and on weekends.
One of the speakers plans to ask the host if it will be recorded and available to watch at a later date. I will try to find out.
I don’t have a link yet and it’s almost 8PM CDT. I would imagine if there is a link to be sent we will all get it at once and all try to get in at once. I think I may wait for youtube or some other way of watching or just skip it altogether.
I received the link this morning. If you still haven’t received it, register again.
