Even with the Christmas and New Year’s breaks, the folks at Library and Archives Canada (LAC) still managed to digitize 10,695 First World War Canadian Expeditionary Force service files, reaching the surname Staunton.
Working through the service files alphabetically, LAC has digitized 543,142 of the 640,000 files as of yesterday. They are available online in LAC’s Personnel Records of the First World War database.
All of the Canadian Expeditionary Force files are expected to be digitized by November 2018, in time for the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.
