The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO) announced its 24th annual conference will be held September 28 to 30, 2018 in Ottawa.
Although they are still accepting presentation proposals, BIFHSGO has already announced two of the speakers. Bruce Durie from Scotland will speak on Scottish genealogy and Diahan Southard from the United States will deliver presentations on on DNA.
And there will be many other great speakers.
This year’s conference themes will have something for every genealogist:
• Scottish family history
• Genetic genealogy
• Family history-related topics, such as military, immigration, technology, photographs
Workshops and seminars will take place on Friday, September 28, and the main conference will be on Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30. BIFHSGO typically has flexible registration, allowing people to sign up for one, two, or all three days.
The deadline for the call for presentation proposals is January 31. The full program of speakers and topics will likely be announced in March.
