Newly digitized Toronto city directories, 1927 – 1967

Christmas arrived early in my house!

As genealogists, one of our favourite resources are city directories, and Jane MacNamara tweeted last night that several more Toronto directories have been digitized and made available online with the support of the Toronto Public Library and Internet Archive.

In May, we learned that Toronto city directories for “eight missing years” between 1910 and 1926 were made available online, thanks to funding from the Ontario Genealogical Society Toronto Branch and a partnership between the Toronto Public Library and Internet Archive.

Now, the 20th century collection has grown significantly. The following years are newly digitized: 1927-1939, 1941, 1943-1950, 1952, 1953, 1956, and 1967.

To make it easy to access the directories, Ms. MacNamara has created a table on her blog, Where the story takes me.

Update: Two days after writing this post, more directories were posted online, and I wrote this second post, 11 more Toronto directories digitized, from 1951-1969.
