Library and Archives Canada’s WWI service file digitization project — November update

As of yesterday, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) had digitized 80 percent of the Canadian Expeditionary Force service files — 518,124 out of 640,000 — reaching the surname Sharp.

At last month’s rate of digitizing about 15,000 files, John D. Reid estimates on his blog, Canada’s Anglo-Celtic Connections, the project should be complete by July 2018. LAC is digitizing the service files systematically and, for the most part, alphabetically.
