OGS announces 2018 conference dates and call for proposals

The Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) has announced its 2018 conference will take place June 1 to 3 in Guelph, Ontario. The theme of the conference is Upper Canada to Ontario — The Birth of a Nation.

Ontario Genealogical SocietyThe program committee invites proposals for presentations on:

  • Migration to Ontario – Where did they arrive from, how did they get here,
    why did they choose Ontario?
  • Sources available to trace Canadians in their country of origin
  • The importance of using maps in your research: changing Ontario districts
    and counties, Canada and beyond
  • How can new technologies assist our research back in history?
  • Methods to document and preserve our research for future generations.

OGS continues to boast the largest membership of any Canadian family history
organization with its conference attracting speakers and attendees from across
the globe.

Speakers will receive an honorarium along with appropriate expenses and
complimentary conference registration. The proposal deadline is August 5. Submission details are available here.

The Ontario Genealogical Society’s 2017 conference takes place this year in Ottawa, June 16 to 18. (I will be delivering one of the many presentations, and I hope to see you there.)
