The Townshippers’ Association in Sherbrooke, Quebec has issued a call for submissions of written works, illustrations and photography to appear in an e-book focusing on the Eastern Townships’ role in the greater Canadian experience.
The project, called Our Stories; The Townships chapter in Canada’s 150-year story, will combine the old and the new, by telling “our stories” through written and visual works, to be published as a full-colour e-book this summer.
The Association invites aspiring and established authors and artists, as well as community members, with ties to the Eastern Townships to submit material that relates to at least one of the following themes:
• the historical roots of our region
• the experience of settlers in our region
• our community’s role in shaping the nation
• contributions made by individuals and our community to both the province and the country
