After more than 100 years of printing books, the Drouin Genealogical Institute, based in the Montreal area, has decided to shut down this part of is business and sell all of its books at a 33 percent discount.
This opportunity will likely interest genealogical societies, institutions, and libraries more than individuals because many of the books, primarily written in French, are on the pricey side.
Two of the reasons behind the decision to sell the books is because more and more often genealogy research is being conducted online and all of the Drouin books have been digitized and are available online with a subscription to Drouin’s Genealogy Quebec website. Subscriptions are $5 for 24 hours, $13 per month, and $100 per year.
